Welcome to the Kiwanis Club of Sydney
#Kids Need Kiwanis
At the Kiwanis Club of Sydney, we believe that kids are curious, lovable, and hilarious—but they are also wild, impatient, and vulnerable. As part of a global community of more than 400,000 volunteers, our mission is to look out for children in every corner of the globe, starting right here in our own community. Our club is dedicated to performing altruistic service, forming enduring friendships, and building a better community for the next generation.
How We Serve
We’ve built our community work around one idea: make it easy to do good. You shouldn’t need a spare weekend or a year-long commitment to make a difference — you should be able to start small, today, and go deeper if it grabs you.
So rather than building programs from scratch, we work as a connector. We partner with organisations already doing brilliant front-line work — Karabi Community Services, local specialist schools, and Sydney Children’s Hospital — and bring them coordination, funding, people and momentum. They do what they do best; we help it go further.
Making a Difference Locally and Globally
- Recognition — Our Terrific Kids program runs across specialist schools including Warrah, Broderick Gillawarna and Sir Eric Woodward, recognising students for their own personal progress, measured against where each child began rather than against anyone else.
- Health — We support Sydney Children’s Hospital, including Comfort Care Cases for children and families facing the hardest of times, and HeartKids Australia.
- Food relief — Our Grocery Run delivers meals to local families through Karabi Community Services.
- Community — “It’s in the Bag” supports women in refuges, and our Bunnings BBQs fund local projects.
Start small
You don’t need much to make a difference. Our Grocery Run is as simple as dropping a grocery item into a crate on your way into a meeting — together it recently added up to 30 meals in a single week for local families. From there you can find your own level: sponsoring a project, coming along to a bbq, or a meeting and bring a friend next time.
